Too Much Jay Leno?
52
Is this really a good thing?
Jay Leno wowed America when he hit the airwaves as Johnny Carson's replacement on "The Tonight Show" in 1992. However, starting this June, Conan O'Brien will be tapped as his replacement. Leno originally wanted to leave the air before his popularity waned, but he recently has changed his mind. NBC then decided to do something extraordinary: Put Jay Leno in primetime!
Starting this fall, NBC will release "The Jay Leno Show" on Monday through Friday for the entire year. This eliminates five hours of programming that NBC will lose in the upcoming year. This could end up costing NBC millions in revenue they could lose if they do not pick up shows like "Law & Order" or the cult favorite "Chuck". NBC says they are doing this to cut costs. The network admits that the show probably won't be a ratings hit, but will cost less than scripted shows in the same time slot.
One has to wonder though, will this help or hurt the network in the long run? "The Tonight Show" averages roughly 2-3 million per night, how many do you think will carry over to 10 PM?

I used to like Leno but now I've definitely had too much of the guy. Great hub!
